The new D-STAR repeater (donated to the Club by Icom Australia) has been installed at the Wamuran repeater site.
Output is 438.675 MHz, input is 431.675MHz (note the -7MHz offset). The gateway is connected to D-STAR reflector REF030C, which has quite a bit of traffic from Europe and North America.
The gateway is ircDDB, information on this software can be found here.
Real time status of the gateway will be available here.
If you want to use another reflector, it is really easy. First, announce that you are connecting to another reflector and change the UR call to your target. DSC028Q is a popular Queensland reflector, that's an awesome one to try first. Once the system announces the new connection, change the UR call back to CQCQCQ.
To ask the gateway which reflector is connected, use the dashboard, or use seven spaces and a I in the UR call.
If your radio supports D-PRS, turn it on so your position can be sent to the APRS-IS, look it up at aprs.fi.
(Thanks to Peter VK4EA for his hard work in getting the repeater online, and for the above write-up.)
