VK4RBN 147.000 should now be providing a much better service. The old Tait T800 has been replaced with a modern Hytera RD982.
The Tait's recent poor performance was found to be due to a blown power amplifier stage.
The fact that the PA's 59 milliwatts of RF output (QRP, anyone?) could be heard at all is a testament to the quality of the antenna installation and its location!
The Hytera is currently putting 250 times that power into the cans, so the signal should be booming in all over SEQ.
VK4RRC 146.925 loan repeater has failed (also a dead PA); an old Philips FM814 is temporarily in service. 91.5Hz output tone is currently not available on this dinosaur, but at least Echolink/IRLP is now back online. The regular Spectra MX25 is expected to return to service shortly.
VK4RRC 438.325 is functioning correctly; Echolink/IRLP is however unavailable.
