Welcome to the Redcliffe Radio Club's EchoIRLP Node information page.
Echolink Node # 44666 IRLP Node # 6404
Current EchoIRLP configuration and recent changes.
[Pretty web page coming soon........]
The club has decomissioned the Echolink machine, moved the IRLP node to the 2 metre repeater and reconfigured the node as an EchoIRLP Node.
EchoIRLP is software that runs on an IRLP node and provides Echolink and IRLP network access from the one single individual solitary machine. That means it only needs one radio, and also because it runs on Linux, it is also *much* more stable (both club sysops drink to that).
IRLP operation has not changed. To connect to a node send the required node number via DTMF. Inbound access is exactly the same (except the caller will be on the 2m repeater). The node callsign has changed from VK4IT to VK4RC.
Echolink operation HAS changed, so pay attention you blokes chatting up the back (you know who you are). To connect to an Echolink node from the repeater, you must send a DTMF * BEFORE the node number, so to call 22013, send *22013. The inbound node number is the same 44666. The node allows for multiple connections, but note that an Echolink connection can not occur while an IRLP connection is in progress (and vice versa). Not an issue on our under utilised nodes.
Layoff Audrey and Lauren. It might be easy for you to say "DTMF" and "IRLP", but a computer finds it a bit harder. I also thought that Lauren's rendition of "activation tone" was justification alone for having the node on 70cm. Maybe we should add an 91.5 hz "activation tone" to the 2m repeater?
Future changes. The Echolink node callsign is being changed to VK4RC-R. I am trying to keep the node number the same, but it may change due to red tape issues beyond my control. I am also looking at relocating the node hardware to the clubrooms, subject to a 3km wifi link test. We live in exciting times.
That's it. Feel free to offer any feedback (or beer) to your EchoIRLP sysops (Shaun VK4FY, Steve VK4IT and Peter VK4EA) who strive to dedicate their time and effort in providing professional carrier grade 24x7 EchoIRLP functionality to the club.
